Graduate of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences, where she focused on medical anthropology, disability studies, 4E approaches in cognitive science, as well as posthumanist and new materialist philosophy. Her MA research examined the experiences of people after larynx resection, with particular attention to embodiment, shifts in social interactions, and self-narratives.
During her PhD studies at the GSSR, she plans to conduct a participatory ethnography on care dependency among older residents in Warsaw, complemented by speculative co-design workshops that explore future visions of eldercare.
Alongside her academic work, Adrianna is a Senior Product Designer at Demant, where she designs medical applications for hearing care professionals and hearing aid users, and facilitates service design activities. She is also interested in public service innovation and applied social research within healthcare systems.

How Senior Residents in Warsaw Experience Becoming Care-Dependent: An Ethnographic and Participatory Exploration of the Present and Future of Elderly Care

The project investigates how older adults and their caregivers in Warsaw experience ageing and care-dependency, situating these experiences within Poland’s rapidly shifting demographic landscape and fragmented care system. Addressing the limited ethnographic research on elder care-dependency, it combines participatory ethnography with speculative co-design to both document everyday practices of care and collaboratively imagine future visions of eldercare. The project aims to inform policy debates on long-term care while also contributing to academic debates on care, dependency, and ageing across medical anthropology, disability studies, feminist and nursing theory, and Science and Technology Studies.
